Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need a Dutch Oven?

The Dutch Oven creates a more moist and evenly-heated atmosphere to produce the ideal loaf of bread in regard to crust, shape, and structure.

What if I don't have parchment paper?

If you do not have parchment paper, do NOT substitute with wax paper, tin foil, or plastic wrap of any kind. Instead, you can use a layer of flour or cornmeal to prevent sticking to any surface.

How long does it take to make the loaf?

Most of the work will be done overnight, completely hands-off! Mix your dough at night, refrigerate, then in the morning it takes about an hour to shape and bake.

How many people does this feed?

The kit will produce a circular loaf about 9 inches in diameter, depending on shaping. That will yield about 6-8 slices, though this may vary.
